Solar System Imaging Simulator 1.2 Beta

Solar System Imaging Simulator is a program designed for planetary photographers and observers.

It can show how the planets will appear in 3d at any given time, how they can be seen with astrophotography equipment, and what features will be visible.

This program is still in the beta stage. If any bugs or lock ups are found, please contact me.

Here are some of the program's main features

  • High Accuracy Ephemerides for the planets
  • Experimental model for the North and South Polar Caps of Mars
  • Accurate shading model for Venus that takes atmospheric refraction into account
  • Mouse-over feature identification on Mars, Jupiter, and Ganymede
  • Can simulate the image scale, field of view, and resolution limit of astrophotography equipment

This program runs on Windows XP, Vista, and WIndows 7, it has not been tested with older versions.
